This book, which I have spead-read really told me the very worst about the self-help industry. It really is like one of those works written by one of the inmates. You have to remember that the author has NO background at all in psychology or therapy. Well we live in a free society and anybody can write a book, but why trust a pseudo-academic book with no references, clearly very little research has gone into this book. What it really is is an excuse to write an autobiography and then get people to read it by saying that it is actually a book that can help others. It is about as helpful as that old classic 'Sexploitation & The Media'. The ideas contained in this book are shallow, vague, commonplace and actually expose a lack of reading, a lack of contact with people who do very ordinary jobs every day of their working lives for the whole of their lives. What is wrong with working in a steel works or shop for your entire career? Without a lot of people doing a lot of mundane boring jobs all their lives our society would actually implode. Williams fails to understand what the capitalist miracle is, we don't die of old age at 32 in a mud hut, but because of a co-operative effort called society most of us actually muddle along quite well. The danger of this book is that a kind of elitism is being peddled in the guise of a meritocractic option. The reality is that most people cannot transcend their day-to-day lives and that trying to opt out because one finds drudgery disagreeable and one would rather have creative and profitable experiences is actually a little lazy. I do wonder what the author would make of the artist starving in a garret but compelled to produce great art which would be unrecognised until after their death. I do not think that this book would have helped a valid creative such as Van Gogh in the slightest. I think the author needs to read a little sociology and a little economics before advising others to opt out of society. The wealth test is a complete fabrication in my opinion, based on a yuppie ideal and NO research. The author needs to do some field work, getting a little dirty, in the footsteps of Engels, London and Orwell because he clearly has spent little time in the world most ordinary people inhabit.

Gramata ir tiesam laba, bet salidzinajuma ar vina pirmo gramatu, taa tomer netur liidzi. Liekot vertejumus saprotu ka 5 ballu skala pa 4 dimensijam tomer ir loti ierobezots izpausmes veids.
P.S. Gramatu lasisana nav apstajusies - apskatu rakstisana gan nedaudz pieklibo ;)

Šo es nesaprotu. Pēc apraksta izklausās, ka Tev patiešām šī grāmata patika un likusies noderīga, bet vērtējums ir viens no zemākajiem kāds jelkad ir bijis...
P.S. Tieši pirms pāris dienām iedomājos, ka sen nav bijis neviens jauns ieraksts par kādu izlasītu grāmatu. Bet kā izrādās tomēr lasīšanu pie malas vēl neesi metis :)

This is "Must Have" book not only for SEO guys but also for any web developer! By learning basics (and not only) of web metrics I learned and got ideas how to improve UX and website structure. Also, how can you improve anything if you can't mesuare it? :)

Nezini vai tiki tik talu A.Robbinsa gramata, bet vins pec vina teikta vins ir izlasijis vairak kaa 700 gramatu un vina gramata ari ir loti bieza un parbagata ar piemeriem no dazadam dzives jomam. Par temu/piemeru atkartososanos esmu domajis un te man ir divas teorijas:
1. Katram ir savs skatijumus un tadel autors apraksta, ka vins redz konkreto temu/konceptu/pieeju utt.
2. Biezi vien cilveki izveles jaunakas gramatas domajot, ka vecajas informacija vairs nav aktuala, tadel ari jaunas gramatas tiek publicetas un vecam tiek veidoti jauni "edition"

Viens piemers - "the secret" - atceros cik daudz cilveku skatijas filmu, pirka gramatu un slaveja, ka tas ir izmainijis vinu dzivi, bet es Tev varu pateikt no kuras gramatas tas viss ir nemts un, ka panemts ir labi ja 10% no taa, kas bija gramata. Te jau vairak nospele marketings un skaisti vaaki :)

Lasot Tavus vairāku pēdējo grāmatu aprakstus un atminoties Robbinsa "Awaken the Giant within" saturu (visu vēl neesmu izlasījis) aizvioen vairāk šķiet, ka daļa no šīm grāmatām ir aizņēmušās saturu no Robbinsa grāmatas, zinot to, ka Robbins savu gara darbu ir rakstījis pirms 20 gadiem, bet kaut vai šī ir krietni jaunāka. Gan vispārējās atziņas, gan arī te pat piemērs par 4-minute mile ir tieši no Robbinsa grāmatas. Un tā jau vairs nav runa par vispārīgo principu atkārtošanu, bet gandrīz vai plaģiātisma pazīmēm. Protams, nezinot visu grāmatas saturu grūti viennozīmīgi teikt, cik daudz tur ir oriģinālas lietas un cik ir "aizņemtās".

Kopumā tas, protams, ir vērtīgs avots, taču pie šādām tenedenču analīzēm būtu jāzina arī aptuvens kopējais apjoms. Lai arī Google Trend iekļauj datus sākot no noteikta meklēšanas apjoma, tomēr arī 10% uz 50 000 meklējumiem ir pavisam kas cits nekā 10% uz 5 000 000 meklējumiem.

Pēc novērtējuma es redzu jau nez kuro grāmatu, kuru Tu iesaki :) Tas tā pa jokam, bet ja nopietni, tad pieļauju un ceru, ka grāmata sasaucas ar slavenā Dr. Bhatt teicienu par to, ka bērniem jāmāca ētika, bet jāmāca arī, ka dzīvē tā jāpatur pie sevis.

Blogs, protams, nav pasmerkis, bet izpausmes veids, un ja tas dod labu ne tikai pasam, bet ari citiem, tad ir dubultprieks.
Rakstu un rakstisu, tikai tad, ja bus ko teikt - ja nebus - tas butu loti zel un neiedomajami :) - tad parstasu.

Manuprāt, svarīgi ir darīt to kas sagādā prieku un rada pievienoto vērtību ne tikai pašam, bet arī apkārtējiem. Tavi raksti man noteikti palīdz izvēlēties nākamo lasāmvielu (nu nav jau tā, ka pats nevaru, bet ietaupās laiks uz "research") un pārejie labumi jau uzskaitīti. Savukārt par nākamajiem 6 mēnešiem.. nu blogs jau nav pašmērķis - būs mazāk laika, rakstīsi retāk, bet labāk!

Apetite rodas edot - tas pats ari attiecas uz rakstisanu. Blogosana pec savas butibas sakas ka dienasgramata - pec 6 menesiem bus interesanti palasit ko es domaju pirms tam, jo cilveekam izteloties (ne atcereeties) kaa vins domaaja ieprieks ir neiespeejami.
Par 80/20 - viss ir manas rokas, bet prioritates mainisies un lidz ar to mainisies ari aktivitates, bet tas viss ierakstaa pec 6 menesiem :)

Būtu interesanti redzēt analīzi vēl pēc 6 mēnešiem. Daļa no šiem punktiem droši vien uzlabosies minimāli, savukārt, iespējams, radīsies vēlme rakstīt vairāk, kas attiecīgi prasīs vairāk laika un 80/20 balanss tad var tikt nojaukts.

Gramatas beigas bija tiesi visvertigakais, bet jaa - kaa jau veerteejums liecina - lidz sim man vismazak vertigaakaa graamata.
Seit gan ir, protams, janem vera subjektivais faktors - liela dala ideju, daudz plasak bija aprakstiitas citaas gramataas, kuras esmu ieprieks lasijis. Ja taas graamatas ieprieks nebutu lasijis, sii gramata noteikti sanemtu augstaku novertejumu.

Pagaidām sliktākā grāmata uz šo brīdi... 3.25 zvaigznes galīgi nerosina lasīt. Tad jau varbūt tomēr nebija vērts lasīt līdz galam?

Rezultati interneta mekletajos reti kad ir lidzigi. So blogu, piemeram, Bing ilgu laiku neindekseja vispar un tikai pec vairakkartejiem “url submit” tas to ir noindeksejis.
Atbildot uz G SEO – Tev ir pilniga taisniba kas attiecas uz USA un Eiropas tirgu, kur Google ir absoluts tirgus lideris. Savadak ir tad, ja cinies par, piemeram, Kinas vai Krievijas tirgu, kur dominejosie interneta mekletaji ir attiecigi Baidu (64%) un Yandex (63%).
Lai ari algoritmi atskiras galvenie principi tomer visiem ir vienadi – ienakoso saisu (inbound links) skaits un kvalitate, lapas nosaukums (page title), iekseja lapas uzbuve (site structure) utt.
